Board of Directors
OBJECTIVES
- To provide direction to Wildwood through the functions
of planning, evaluating and policy development.
- To ensure that Wildwood meets and exceeds community
expectations for program quality, facility management and
financial stability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Is committed to making the Wildwood Experience
accessible to children from the entire Kansas City area,
especially children from the urban core of Kansas City,
Kansas and Missouri.
- Has specific skills, knowledge and/or experience related
to the mission of Wildwood and the responsibility of the
board.
- Is representative of some aspect or segment of the
community impacted by the programs of Wildwood.
COMMITMENTS
- Willing to assume responsibility for corporate
management of the organization.
- Two-year term of office.
- Approximately two hours per month.
- Five meetings per year, a board retreat and additional
time for board committees and planning activities as
requested.
- Willing to make a personal financial commitment
commensurate with ability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure corporate management direction of Wildwood.
- Ensure fulfillment of legal obligations as a non-profit
organization.
- Ensure provision of quality programs that serve a broad
range of the community, and especially the urban core.
- Ensure that property and financial assets of Wildwood
are prudently protected and managed.
- Secure the funds necessary to operate Wildwood.
- Secure community involvement and support of Wildwood.
- Be knowledgeable of the operations of Wildwood.
- Be knowledgeable of the people, trends and events in the
community that impact Wildwood’s mission.
- Attend and participate actively in all board and
committee meetings.
- Be an advocate for Wildwood.
