Facilities

Summer Camp is one of the highest positive impact activities in which a child can participate.  So much can happen in a week’s time to improve that ever so fragile self-esteem of a developing young child or teen.

It’s not often a program like Wildwood that puts as much into a camp experience as it has here in the Greater Kansas City area.

Our facilities are top notch:

  • The swimming pool was rebuilt in 1998
  • The boys cabins rebuilt in 1993

  • Meadow View cabin rebuilt in 1998

  • The Dining Hall expanded in 1998

  • Lakeside cabin remodeled in 2004

The 150 acres are brimming with forest, meadows, ponds, birds and wildlife.  The beautiful Lake LaCygne enhances our natural resources and provides inspiring lookouts from the main part of camp.  Most important is Wildwood’s commitment to staff, leadership and purpose.  We know how important it is for the people who work with children to be the best role models available.  We believe that our future depends on the way we treat and teach children.  We are committed to the Three “R’s”; Respect for Self, Respect for Others and Respect for the Environment, which has made Wildwood a unique setting since 1980.

Wildwood is more than just a camp; it’s a place where children spend the best days of their lives.  When they come, they grow in confidence, character and self-esteem.  They learn to share, to care and make memories that last a lifetime.

Wildwood is committed to creating the greatest place for children to make friends, have fun and enjoy their youth.  Within the perimeter of all this beauty, and with safety as our watchword, one of our main goals is an “Adventure in Learning.”

We believe a summer camp experience is one of the very best investments you can make in your child and we look forward to seeing you at Wildwood this summer.
